How craftsmanship became a brand that professionals trust
In 1948 in Borculo (Gelderland) the family Ten Bruggencate founded the clothing factory De Berkel B.V., named after the small river that flows through the town. The production of medical professional clothing gave rise to a company that set standards early on - with craftsmanship precision, functional quality and a keen sense of the demands of everyday life in healthcare.
From the region to the world
With growing expertise and the trust of its customers, De Berkel expanded its range to include workwear for the catering, industrial and service sectors. Today, it produces tailor-made collections for large companies as well as durable models for industrial laundries and the food industry.
In the 1980s, the company moved to Varsseveld and relocated part of its production abroad – without losing sight of its roots. From there, De Berkel now supplies customers throughout Europe and continues to stand for quality, innovation and reliability.

Our team of design, graphics, CAD and pattern sewing work together seamlessly. Production takes place at our own production sites - a sign of our quality and competence.
Flexible production
We manufacture quickly, flexibly and reliably – with the highest quality standards. 90% of production takes place in our own independent factories in Europe and neighboring countries as well as selected and certified partner companies.

Reliable logistics
From the design idea to delivery – our optimized supply chain management controls the entire process. Thanks to state-of-the-art merchandise management systems, our own raw materials warehouse and a central logistics park, we respond flexibly to customer orders. We absorb fluctuations in delivery ourselves so that even customized products are delivered on time.
With a modern central warehouse and reliable logistics partners, we ensure punctual delivery as well as direct delivery to individual employees.
Sustainably certified
Our product policy relies on sustainable raw materials and high quality. In logistics and disposal, we minimize emissions and promote recycling. We are socially committed to fair working conditions and ensure compliance with standards. Our energy management reduces CO2 and uses renewable energy sources.
